No, this is not an anime song, and we are well aware of it. We decided to cover the Japanese version of Sixpence None The Richer's song "Kiss Me" because we thought it would be fun. Every time we play this song live at anime conventions, people start to sing along with us, until we start singing the Japanese parts. The confusion on people's faces are fun! :p jk

Here's our acoustic (and slightly distorted) cover of "The Real Folk Blues", the ending song to the classic, yet timeless anime show "Cowboy Bebop".

This is the second time we've actually recorded this song. Around the time Otaku Acoustic started performing live at anime conventions, we made attempts to record our progress. The next video below is unlisted on YouTube, but you'll get to see it here on our official blog (just don't share it).

This is our acoustic cover / rendition of "Bit by Bit, I'm Falling Under Your Spell", the English version of the opening song to the anime show Dragon Ball GT.
Bit by Bit, I'm Falling Under Your Spell (acoustic cover) - Dragon Ball GT (English Dub Opening Theme Song)
Before we came up with an acoustic version to this song, a friend of ours named Jesse asked us if we could cover this song for his birthday. We're not the biggest Dragon Ball fans, but the song sounded fairly easy enough to do. While learning the music to the song, we contemplated on whether we should learn and perform the song in Japanese or in English. For now, we are performing this live in English, but Melanie is slowly learning the Japanese and even the Spanish version of this song.
We are now officially a part of A-Kon 25Special Events!!!
For the first time in our music project's lifetime, we are being recognized and categorized as a special event by the largest anime convention in Texas, and also the longest running anime convention in the United States! It took us two years to get to this point in our music project, but the adventure was well worth it!
Here's our live performance schedule:
SATURDAY, 11:30pm – 12:30pm: Special Events Space 1 – Outside In Sculpture Park (schedule says 12:00pm, awaiting correction)
Just uploaded another acoustic cover video on YouTube: The opening song to the first season of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It's called "Bouken Desho Desho?"

We're getting a kick out of making these videos, now that we have Sony Vegas Pro 11. This was also shot last week, on April 25, 2014, the same night we shot the opening theme song to "Neon Genesis Evangelion".
